Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission

The TRORC region consists of 30 towns located in four different counties, with regional transportation access via I-89 and I-91. Much of the region is part of Vermont’s “Upper Valley”, with Hartford acting as the largest center of commerce, employment and the arts. Smaller hubs of commerce are found in the northern part of this region in Randolph and Bradford. Most of the region is characterized by rugged, forested mountains; open farmlands, quiet historic villages and rural countryside, and the populations of each town vary accordingly. The White River valley stretches from the Green Mountains in Granville and Hancock, to White River Junction; and the smaller Ompompanoosuc, Waits and Wells rivers passing through several Orange and Windsor County towns. The region boasts a number of Historic sites including the Calvin Coolidge Homestead in Plymouth and the Marsh-Billings Historic Park in Woodstock. Orange County, which makes up half of the region, has the third largest number of working farms in Vermont.
